Basketball season is almost here!

the nets came to town last night to play our winless raps. but to my surprise, the raptors actually won! by 2 points in OT. as per usual, VC got his boos. it always makes me a little sad whenever i see VC play. he really has stepped it up, and there is no question that he will be putting in 20+ points per game. even tho hes been gone for a while now, im still pissed that he left. i know hes gota look out for himself, and there were lots of other factors for him leaving, but man, whata bad breakup. i shed a small tear everytime he dunks on us.

even though the raps won last night, there will definetly be a lot of losing this season. no question about that. so what ive done is pick an alternate team. i will always root for the raptors and cheer them on, but i will also cheer for another team (that actually has a chance at winning). and that team will be...the 76ers! why the 76ers? well i think that theyve got a good nucleus of players. they are well rounded and not filled with stars. i refuse to cheer for teams like the heat or rockets who are just stacked with allstars and who just trying to buy their way to the finals. i want a team who are slightly like the underdogs, yet fairly talented. you know this team is going to work really hard for their wins.

so lets break down the sixers:

PG: allen iverson - obviously the hear and soul of the team. this guy will probably get 30-35% of the teams points. he'll rack up the assists since now he is the teams point man, and he'll get lots of steals since this guy is fast as hell. granted, he will get a lot of turnovers, but he'll definetly be fun to watch. and unlike VC, iverson doesnt complain or use injuries as an excuse during poor play. dudes got heart!

SG: kyle korver - one of my new favorite players. simply because i think he plays a lot like me. he thinks outside shot first, then goes inside. needless to say, hes got an awesome outside shot. he'll spread out the floor and give iverson and Iguodala lots of room to run and penetrate.

SF: Andre Iguodala - to compliment korvers outside game, iguodala is the guy that will charge the basket with crazy dunks. the cutter and slasher. this guy can run and knows how to finish.

PF: CWEBB - good ol cwebb. the only real gamble. hopefully his knees dont fail on him. if hes good to go through out the season, he too can stretch out the floor with his jumpers, pound the ball in the paint, and is also a really great passer.

C: Samuel Dalembert - not really known to the public eye, but has been saught after from a lot of teams in the leauge. he wont be putting up huge numbers everynight, but will give u solid double doubles almost every game. hes very altletic and also knows how to finish.

in no way at all am i 'dumping' the raptors for the sixers. the raps will be my team till the end.
