AMAZING!!!

freekn freekn amazing!!! im still in a bit in shock that i just saw Kenny Wayne Shepherd and BB King play. you couldnt have made a better combo. KWS totally ripped it on the guitar. mind blowing. and BB was just as good as the first time i saw him. killer vibrato and all. it was also a special night, because it was his 80th birthday! and hes still going strong, totally awesome.

the show started off with two opening acts before KWS stepped out. the first dude to play was really good. i only caught his last song which was 'rude mood' by SRV. this guy was a character, playing the crap out of his guitar and sweating like a mad man. it looked like his head was going to explode. i guess that is essential since he was playing a SRV track.

the next act was this guitarist david gogo. he too was also very impressive, although not as much of a character on the guitar as the first act...but he did at one point down an entire bottle of beer on stage, then use it as a slide. effing cool!

so the main event came. i was like a little teeny bopper when KWS came out. immediatly he started into his heavy blues rock gig. he ended his set playing a cover of hendrix' Vodoo Chile. the picture to the right is KWS doing his impression of hendrix playing behind his back.

then BB came out and classed up the joint by playing his smooth and emotional version of the blues. its too bad that BB and KWS didnt play together. that wouldve been amazing, and i wouldve died right there. but regardless, it was a wicked show. BB is definetly a legend, and i hope he continues to play. happy 80th BB!
