euro raps!
im starting to get excited about our new raptor squad. i know for a fact we are not headed towards the finals anytime soon, BUT all the moves that colagnelo has been making are pretty great. so far, i haven’t disagreed on any of his moves.
colagnelo's strategy of pimping out the european market is awesome. a lot of people see it as risky but i like it. european guys are known for having a much nicer shooting touch and who are able to put the ball on the floor and run, 7 footers included. look at teams like the spurs, suns or mavs. they are flooded with international players and are totally benefiting from it.
coalangelo understands how the league and the game is changing. the future is not about big centers who wear defenses down, it's about fast-break, high-tempo-run-the-floor type basketball (eg. Phoenix). for this you don't necessary need athletic superstars, you need guys who can run, pass, and possess a high basket-ball IQ. You need team-players and not ball-hogs...hence the reason the Raps are looking outside the US for players!
guys like Bargnani, Parker, and hopefully Garbajosa are all great additions. we finally will have a bench to go too. unlike last year, when it basically was just matt bonner.
