xbox live is full of hicks and wierdos
seriously.
after getting the game burnout: revenge from scott & alicia, i was finally able to get a good taste of xbox live.
the xbox comes with a headset and mic so you can chat and trashtalk with people from across the globe. i played with guys who sounded like they were totally high or drunk to 13 year old kids who claimed to be the second cousin of ryan seacrest, to really loud japanese dudes.
but one game stood out in particular. it was when i joined a game with some guys from ohio and some from texas. i chatted with them for a bit. yknow, standard video game trash talk like playing like a girlyman or talking about each others mama, etc. everything was fine and dandy until they found out that i was from canada. obvious standard hockey and igloo jokes ensued. but one guy came out in a fairly thick southern accent and sounding VERY sincere saying "heyyy buddy, all canadians are either french or gay. which one are ya?" he would basically repeat that over and over and then say "one of those choices i really hate, and if you are the wrong one, i wouldnt hesitate to stick my .45 up yer ass" now i couldnt help but just laugh at this guy. all i could think was 'wow, this is one classy american'. so we are about race 3 into our little tournament, and low and behold the racial card is pulled out. i wont get into much detail about this, but the stuff they said was really quite lovley. i didnt want to say too much to them to egg them on, but getting first place against them was satisfying enough.
ahhh, racist and homophobic americans...gota love it. (insert sarcasm here) :)
i do have to say that xbox live is really damn fun. the ability to play games online totally kicks up the replay value by 10 notches. i cant wait til a really good FPS comes out.
